This Gospel written by Mark begins with the words, "The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God." It is shown in this Gospel, how Lord Jesus has power in his ministry. He shows his power when he teaches, orders evil spirits and forgives. Lord Jesus called himself the Son of Man, who gave his life so that many people would be saved. In this Gospel the ministry of Lord Jesus is more in focus than his words or teachings. The beginning of the Gospel of Mark is short. It is about John the Baptist, Jesus baptism and how Satan tries to tempt him to sin. Straight after that the ministry of Jesus is told, how he heals people and teaches them. Several chapters in the end tell what happened in the last week of Jesus' life, when he is crucified and when he rises from the dead.
